（大慧云。奉乃承奉之奉。如人奉事長上。先致敬而後承奉。向乃功勳之所立。纔向即有承事之意故。答背時作麼生。謂此事無間斷。奉時既爾。而背時亦然。言背即奉之義。蓋奉背皆功勳也）。

(Dahui said: "'Service' is the service of rendering reverence. Like a person serving a superior, one first presents respect and afterward renders service. 'Orientation' is where merit is established; as soon as there is orientation, there is the intent of serving. Therefore, the answer 'How is it when turning one's back?' means that this matter has no interruption: just as it is so when serving, it is also so when turning one's back. Speaking of turning one's back conveys the meaning of service, for serving and turning one's back are both merit.")
