（大慧云。功即用也。答放下鋤頭時作麼生。把鋤頭言用。放下鋤頭是無用。師之意謂用與無用皆功勳也）。

(Dahui said: "'Merit' is function. Answering 'How is it when laying down the hoe?': grasping the hoe expresses function, while laying down the hoe is non-function. The Master's intent means that both function and non-function are merit.")
