僧問。古鏡未磨時如何。穴云。天魔膽喪。明云。新羅打鼓。巖云。照破天下髑髏。山云。此去漢陽不遠。磨後如何。穴云。軒轅當道。明云。西天作舞。巖云。黑似漆。山云。黃鶴樓前鸚鵡洲。

A monk asked, "What is it like when the ancient mirror has not yet been polished?"
Xue said, "The heavenly demons lose their courage."
Ming said, "In Silla they beat the drums."
Yan said, "It illuminates and shatters all skulls in the world."
Shan said, "From here to Hanyang is not far."
"What is it like after being polished?"
Xue said, "Xuanyuan stands in the middle of the road."
Ming said, "In the Western Heavens they dance."
Yan said, "Black as lacquer."
Shan said, "Before the Yellow Crane Tower lies Parrot Isle."
