"Kalyāṇamitras! In this Dharma door, sitting in meditation originally does not attach to mind, nor does it attach to purity, nor does it speak of being motionless. If one speaks of contemplating the mind, the mind is originally delusion; because delusion is like an illusion, there is nothing to contemplate. If one speaks of contemplating purity, human nature is originally pure; it is because of deluded thoughts that tathatā is covered over. Detached from deluded thoughts, the original nature is pure. Not seeing that one's own-nature is originally pure, giving rise to a mind to contemplate purity instead produces the delusion of purity, and delusion has no location. Therefore know that the contemplator's contemplation is itself a delusion. Purity has no shape or form, yet one establishes a form of purity and calls it spiritual effort; those who hold such a view obstruct their own original nature and are instead bound by purity. Those who cultivate motionlessness: not seeing the faults of any person is the motionlessness of one's own-nature. Deluded people do not move their own bodies, yet as soon as they open their mouths they speak of the rights and wrongs of others, going contrary to the Way. Contemplating the mind and contemplating purity are instead causes and conditions that obstruct the Way."
