師春秋七十有六，年二十四傳衣，三十九祝髮，說法利生三十七載，嗣法四十三人，悟道超凡者莫知其數。達磨所傳信衣（西域屈眴布也），中宗賜磨衲寶鉢，及方辯塑師真相，并道具，永鎮寶林道場。留傳《壇經》以顯宗旨，興隆三寶，普利群生者。

The Master was seventy-six years of age. At twenty-four he received the robe, and at thirty-nine he shaved his head. He taught the Dharma to benefit sentient beings for thirty-seven years. Forty-three people inherited his Dharma, and those who awakened to the Way and transcended the ordinary were beyond count. The robe of faith transmitted from Bodhidharma (which was made of kucha cloth from the Western Regions), the mona robe and jeweled bowl bestowed by Emperor Zhongzong, along with the true likeness of the Master sculpted by Fangbian and his ritual implements, are preserved forever at the Baolin Bodhimanda. The Platform Sūtra was handed down to manifest the core teaching, cause the Three Treasures to flourish, and universally benefit all living beings.
