答。若無九即無一。次明同體門中一即十者。還言一者。緣成。故一即十。何以故。若十非一。一不成故。一即十既爾。一即二三亦然。

Answer: If there were no nine, there would be no one. Next, to clarify 'one is identical with ten' in the gate of identical substance: it still means that one is completed by conditions, therefore one is identical with ten. Why is this? If ten were not one, one would not be established. Since one being identical with ten is like this, one being identical with two or three is also like this.
