答。真如是不起門。不起不必由起。由無有起故。所以唯示體。生滅是起動門。起必賴不起。起含不起。故起中具三大。

Answer: Tathatā is the non-arising gate; the non-arising does not necessarily depend on arising, and because it has no arising, it only indicates substance. Arising and ceasing is the active gate; arising must rely on non-arising, and arising contains non-arising, so within arising the three greatnesses are fully present.
