問。以心為宗。理須究竟。約有情界。真妄似分。不可雷同。有濫圓覺。如金鍮共爇。真偽俄分。砂米同炊。生熟有異。未審以何心為宗。

Question: Taking citta as the source requires ultimate precision in principle. Regarding the realm of sentient beings, the true and the false seem distinct; they must not be conflated, lest the complete enlightenment be corrupted. Just as gold and brass heated together immediately reveal the real and the counterfeit, and cooking gravel together with rice yields differences of raw and cooked, it is not yet known: which citta is taken as the source?
