夫初後之位。不離本覺。能所之化。唯是一心。若悟本稱覺。則本不可得。若不可得。行位徒施。得與不得。其旨如何。
The stages from beginning to end are not apart from original enlightenment; the transformations of subject and object are solely the one mind. If realizing the origin is termed enlightenment, then the origin is unattainable. If it is unattainable, the stages of practice are applied in vain. As for attaining and not attaining, what is their principle?
