39.8

問。此平等法性一乘妙心。一切眾生聲聞緣覺菩薩諸佛。悉皆共稟。云何於異生界等。此一靈性念念處輪迴。於聲聞乘。同共一法中。而不得此事。

Question: This marvelous mind of the equal dharmatā and One Vehicle is endowed equally by all sentient beings, śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, bodhisattvas, and all buddhas. Why is it that in the realms of ordinary beings and the like, this single numinous nature thought after thought abides in saṃsāra, whereas in the Śrāvakayāna, sharing in this identical single Dharma, they do not attain this matter?
