答。尋求有二緣方有。一即率爾心引。二即計度分別心。前五種雖有率爾。而無計度分別。第八有三心。率爾決定等流。無染淨尋求。

Answer: Seeking occurs only with two conditions: first, being induced by the spontaneous mind; second, by the mind of calculating discrimination. Although the first five kinds possess spontaneity, they lack calculating discrimination. The eighth [consciousness] has three minds: spontaneity, determination, and outflowing-in-continuity; it lacks defilement/purity and seeking.
