答。以護法菩薩云。境名通於內外。謂有離心境。不離心境。恐濫外境。但言唯識。所以唯識論云。謂諸愚夫。迷執外境。起煩惱業。生死輪迴。不解觀心。非謂內境相分。如外都無。

Answer: Because Bodhisattva Dharmapāla said: The name 'realm' applies to both internal and external, meaning there are realms apart from the mind and realms not apart from the mind. Fearing confusion with external realms, one says only 'representation-only'. Therefore the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhiśāstra states: 'Because all foolish common mortals delusionally grasp external realms, generate kleśas and karma, and cycle through birth and death, unable to understand the contemplation of mind; it is not that the internal realm of the object-aspect is completely non-existent like the external.'
