問。若言須與所熏和合一處。方名能熏者。且如生亡父母。及先亡子孫等。後人為作功德。此亦是熏他識。以獲福故。如何不許。

Question: If one says that it must be in harmony and in the same place with that which is perfumed before it can be called an active perfumer, then when descendants perform meritorious deeds for their living or deceased parents and for earlier deceased sons and grandsons, this too is perfuming another's consciousness, since they obtain merit; how can this not be accepted?
