答。一切有漏種子。即具三義。若是無漏種子。不隨第八成無記。唯是善性。即第八不領為境。以相違故。不妨持而不緣。三義中但具二義。

Answer: All tainted seeds possess these three meanings. If they are untainted seeds, they do not follow the eighth to become indeterminate, but are exclusively of a wholesome nature; thus the eighth does not receive them as an objective realm, because they are mutually contrary. Nevertheless, this does not hinder [the eighth] from sustaining them without conditioning them; among the three meanings, they possess only two.
