外人問云。世間淺近。生而知之。色離識有。今者大乘立色不離眼識。以不共世間共所知故。此量何不犯世間相違過。

An opponent asks: 'Worldly convention is superficial and immediate; from birth, people know that matter exists apart from consciousness. Now the Mahāyāna posits that matter is not separate from visual consciousness; because this is not shared with what the world universally knows, why does this inference not commit the fallacy of contradiction with worldly convention?'
