答。若空將他方佛色。不言自許者。即他小乘不許。犯一分他隨一過。他不許此一分他方佛色。在初三攝眼所不攝因中故。故因明疏云。若不言自許。即不得以他方佛色而為不定。此言便有隨一過故。
Answer: If one simply took the form of the Buddhas of other directions without stating "by our own acceptance," then the other party, the Hīnayāna, would not accept it, incurring the fault of one-sided lack of concurrence on the part of the other (ekadeśa-parāsiddha). For the other does not accept that this one-sided form of the Buddhas of other directions is present in the reason, "subsumed under the first three and not subsumed under the eye." Therefore the Commentary on Hetuvidyā states: 'If one does not state "by our own acceptance," one cannot use the form of the Buddhas of other directions to show inconclusiveness, because this statement would then have the fault of unproved reason (asiddha).'
