答。相分間斷。又是外緣。內二分作用沈隱難知。不執也。種子無作用故。不執為我。以見分作用顯現故。

Answer: The nimittabhāga is intermittent and, furthermore, is an external condition. The functions of the two internal parts are sunken, hidden, and difficult to know; hence it does not grasp them. Seeds have no function; hence it does not grasp them as self. It is because the darśanabhāga's function is manifest.
