答。此時眼識。但得青等實色。而同時意識。依眼根為門。分明顯了。取得長等。據意識得。合法處收。但緣此時。意識。依眼根取。對所依根。故色處攝。

Answer: At this time, the eye consciousness grasps only real forms such as blue; whereas the concurrent manovijñāna, using the eye faculty as a gateway, distinctly and clearly grasps [shapes such as] long and short. According to what is apprehended by the manovijñāna, it properly belongs to the category of mental objects (dharmāyatana); however, because at this time the manovijñāna grasps by relying on the eye faculty, in relation to the faculty relied upon, it is subsumed under the category of forms (rūpāyatana).
