54.12

問。夫聞法者。既託諸佛悲願為本質。作增上緣。眾生但自心識心上。所變得影像相分文義。此即實無心外法。為執見未信者。於世法中事。如何引證。印成後信。入一乘門。

Question: Since the hearer of the Dharma takes the compassionate vows of the Buddhas as the fundamental substance (vastu) serving as the sovereign condition (adhipatipratyaya), and what sentient beings attain are merely the nimittabhāga of images, syllables, and meanings transformed within their own conscious minds, this means there are truly no dharmas outside the mind. For those whose attachments to views have not yet produced faith, how can affairs in worldly phenomena be cited as evidence to confirm and produce subsequent faith, so that they may enter the gate of the One Vehicle?
