答。應作四句分別。一體挾體者。即自證分緣證自證分。證自證分却緣自證分。是也。二用挾用者。即八識心心所見分。緣自親相分。是也。三用挾體者。即根本智見分緣真如。是也。四體挾用者。即自證分緣見分也。

Answer: One should analyze it with four propositions: First, substance taking along substance: that is, the svasaṃvittibhāga cognizing the saṃvittisvasaṃvittibhāga, and the saṃvittisvasaṃvittibhāga in turn cognizing the svasaṃvittibhāga. Second, function taking along function: that is, the darśanabhāga of the citta and mental factors of the eight consciousnesses cognizing their own direct nimittabhāga. Third, function taking along substance: that is, the darśanabhāga of fundamental wisdom cognizing tathatā. Fourth, substance taking along function: that is, the svasaṃvittibhāga cognizing the darśanabhāga.
