74.4

問。人法二空。一心妙理。云何又說四相所遷。二死相續。且如四相之中生相則內外無從。推不可得。住相則念念不住。異相則雖似遷移。體本嘗變。滅相則法本不然。今亦無滅。

Question: The two emptinesses of person and dharmas are the wondrous principle of the one mind; why then speak of being shifted by the four characteristics and the continuation of the two kinds of death? Moreover, among the four characteristics: as for the characteristic of arising, inside and outside it has no origin, and upon investigation it cannot be apprehended; as for the characteristic of abiding, thought by thought does not abide; as for the characteristic of change, although it seems to shift, its substance is originally changeless; as for the characteristic of cessation, dharmas are originally not so, and now there is also no cessation.
