76.14

問。唯識第九亦說其所轉依有其二種。一持種依。謂第八識。二迷悟依。謂即真如。何以說言。然依生滅八識。唯有心境依持。

Question: Fascicle nine of the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi also states that its basis of transformation (āśrayaparāvṛtti) has two kinds: first, the basis that sustains seeds, which is the eighth consciousness; second, the basis of delusion and awakening, which is tathatā. Why do you say that, relying on the eight consciousnesses of production and cessation, there is only the sustaining support of mind and objects?
