78.12

問。定中所見定果色。是定心自現。非緣現在外色。又非憶持過去境。可驗唯心。未得定者。皆是散意所見外色。云何證是自心。

Question: The rūpa resulting from samādhi seen within samādhi is manifested by the concentrated mind itself; it does not cognize present external rūpa, nor does it recall past objects. Through this, one can verify that it is mind-only. But for those who have not attained samādhi, everything is external rūpa seen by a distracted mind. How can it be verified that this is one's own mind?
