答。皆是依於自心分別。強執善惡之因。妄受苦樂之果。若究三輪之體。能殺所殺本空。是以文殊執劍於瞿曇。鴦崛持刀於釋氏。終不見生見殺。執自執他。妄受輪迴。酬還罪報。

Answer: It is entirely based on discrimination in one's own mind, obstinately grasping the causes of good and evil, and falsely receiving the fruits of suffering and pleasure. If one investigates the substance of the three wheels, the killer and the killed are fundamentally empty. Therefore Mañjuśrī brandished a sword against Gautama, and Aṅgulimāla held a knife against the Śākya; ultimately they did not perceive beings or perceive killing, nor grasp self or grasp other, falsely undergoing saṃsāra to repay sinful retribution.
