問。一切眾生。皆同法性。故思益經云。眾生如。即是漏盡解脫如。云何眾住不具性起功德。
Question: All sentient beings share the same dharma-nature; hence the Viśeṣacintibrahmaparipṛcchāsūtra says: "The suchness of sentient beings is itself the suchness of the exhaustion of outflows and liberation." Why do the various states of sentient beings not possess the merit of nature-arising?
