83.18

問。萬法唯心。誠證非一。入楞伽經偈云。三界上下法。我說即是心。離於諸心法。更無有可得。若四維上下皆是自心者。則行住坐臥依何而住。若無依報所居。正報如何成立。

Question: That the ten thousand dharmas are mind-only is attested by more than one reliable proof. A verse in the Laṅkāvatārasūtra states: / 'Dharmas above and below in the three realms, / I say are precisely citta. / Apart from mental dharmas, / Nothing else can be found.' / If the four cardinal directions, zenith, and nadir are all one's own citta, then upon what does one abide in walking, standing, sitting, and lying down? If there is no environmental retribution in which to dwell, how is primary retribution established?
