夫確定一心。心外無法。聖教所印。理事圓通。只如法華方便品。明十界十如。相性因緣果報本末。初後不濫。行相非虛。今唯說一心。如何合教。

Now, the determination of the one mind, with no dharmas outside citta, is verified by the holy teachings, and principle and phenomena are completely integrated. For instance, the ‘Expedient Means’ chapter of the Lotus Sūtra clarifies the ten realms and ten suchnesses: characteristic, nature, cause, condition, effect, retribution, beginning and end. From beginning to end they are not confused, and the active characteristics are not false. Now you speak solely of the one mind: how does this accord with the teaching?
