94.49

諸法無行經云。善住天子。問文殊言。若有人來求出家者。當云何答。文殊言。若不發出家心者。當教汝真出家法。何者。若求出家。是求三界。及以五欲。未來報等。彼不見心。故不證法。心無為故。故不發心。釋曰。若證自心。即入無為之理。若是無為之理。則無心可發。斯則是真發心。是真出家矣。

The Sarvadharmāpravṛtti-nirdeśa says: 'The devaputra Supratiṣṭhita asked Mañjuśrī: "If someone comes seeking to renounce household life, how should one answer?" Mañjuśrī said: "If they do not generate the mind to renounce household life, I shall teach you the dharma of true renunciation. Why? If one seeks to renounce household life, this is seeking the three realms, the five desires, future retribution, and so forth. They do not see the mind, and therefore do not realize the Dharma. Because the mind is unconditioned, they do not generate the mind."'

Explanation: If one realizes one's own mind, one enters the principle of the unconditioned. If it is the principle of the unconditioned, then there is no mind to be generated. This is the true generation of the mind, and true renunciation of household life.
