97.13

第四祖優波毱多尊者傳法偈云。心自本來心。本心非有法。有法有本心。非心非本法。

The Dharma-transmission verse of the fourth patriarch, the venerable Upagupta, says:
“Citta is of itself the original citta;
The original citta is not an existent dharma.
If there is a dharma, there is an original citta;
It is not citta, nor is it the original dharma.”
