第三祖璨大師傳法偈云。華種雖因地。從地種華生。若無人下種。華種盡無生。
The verse of transmission of the Dharma by the third patriarch, Great Master [Seng]can, says: / "Although flower seeds depend on the ground, / From the ground, flowers grow from seeds. / If there were no person to sow the seeds, / The seeds of flowers would not grow at all."
