98.14

高僧釋道世云。勤勇懺悔者。雖知依理。須知心妄動。遠離前境。經云。譬如㲲花千斤。不如真金一兩。喻能觀心強。即滅罪強。

The eminent monk, the Śākya Daoshi, said: "One who vigorously repents, though knowing to rely on principle, must know the mind's false stirrings and distance oneself from the objects before one. A sūtra says: 'For example, a thousand pounds of cotton blossoms are not equal to an ounce of true gold.' This illustrates that when the mind able to contemplate is strong, the eradication of transgressions is strong."
