唯識序云。離心之境克湮。即識之塵斯在。帶數之名攸顯。唯識之稱兆彰。故得一心之旨。永傳而不窮。八識之燈。恒然而無盡。

The Preface to the Treatise on Consciousness-Only says: 'Objects apart from the mind definitely perish; defiling dust identical to consciousness truly remains. The name bearing the number is clearly revealed; the designation "representation-only" is distinctly manifested. Thus, the purport of the one mind is transmitted forever without exhaustion; the lamp of the eight consciousnesses burns eternally without ceasing.'
