Answer: Although there is no real object seen or subject seeing, all fools invert them into existence. To eliminate their views of overweening pride, complying with the world, provisional designations have no fault. If one can practice in accordance with this holy teaching, conventionally speaking, one is called a true disciple of the Buddha. Worldly fools, following the inverted objective characteristics transformed by their own minds, give rise to a seeing mind. The Buddha is not their object and has no function for them. As for saying that the Buddha, the World-Honoured One, in his past causal stage, in order to benefit and bring joy to all sentient beings, aroused boundless active vows and practices, through which he realized non-conceptual wisdom; and by the power of this wisdom, he aroused measureless functions of benefiting and bringing joy to sentient beings without end—sentient beings take the wondrous wisdom obtained through the Buddha's vows and practices as an empowering condition, and their own minds transform and appear so as to comply with the most supreme path of birth in the world and comply with the empowering condition. Furthermore, the original vows and practices are not inverted either, because he can comprehend the true meaning of all dharmas, has no attachment to any dharma, and can serve as the producing cause of the unsurpassed wondrous fruit. Although he arouses the aspiration, gives rise to supreme practices, seeks the unsurpassed fruit, and benefits and brings joy to sentient beings, like an illusionist conjuring illusions he has no attachment whatsoever, so it is not inverted.
