The monk Sanping's verse says:
This very seeing and hearing is not seeing and hearing;
There are no other sounds and forms to present to you.
If herein one comprehends that there is totally nothing to do,
It does not matter whether substance and function are distinguished or not.
Another verse says:
Seeing, hearing, knowing, and perceiving are fundamentally not causes;
Their very substance is empty and profound, transcending both delusion and truth.
When seeing characteristics one does not produce the karma of ignorance and attachment,
Thoroughly and completely it is the body of Śākyamuni.
