問：「經云：『觀身實相，觀佛亦然。』一念不生，天真頓朗。何得唱他佛號，廣誦餘經？高下輪迴，前後生滅；既妨禪定，但徇音聲。水動珠昏，寧當冥合？」

Question: 'A sūtra states: "Contemplating the dharmatā of the body, one contemplates the Buddha in the same way." When not a single thought arises, the natural reality is suddenly radiant. Why then recite the name of another Buddha and broadly chant other sūtras? Rising and falling, revolving in cycle, before and after, arising and ceasing; this both obstructs dhyāna and merely pursues sounds. When water is stirred the pearl becomes dim; how could there be silent conformity?'
