Now, that whereto the myriad goods return takes dharmatā as its ancestral source. It is like empty space containing and taking in, like the earth generating and giving birth; therefore, as long as one accords with tathatā, one naturally encompasses the myriad virtues. Yet, without moving from the bhūta-koṭi, the myriad practices constantly arise; without destroying conditioned arising, the dharmadhātu is ever-manifest; stillness does not obstruct functioning, and the conventional does not contradict the ultimate; existence and non-existence are viewed equally, uniform in a single limit. Therefore, the myriad dharmas are mind-only, and one must broadly practice the various perfections; one must not stubbornly sit in foolish emptiness, thereby stagnating true cultivation. If one wishes the myriad practices to arise together, one must ultimately rely on principle and phenomena; principle and phenomena being non-obstructed, the Way lies in the middle. Thereby one accomplishes the benefit of both self and other, rounding out the compassion of identical substance; encompassing from beginning to end, one accomplishes inexhaustible practice.
