問：「《思益經》云：『入正位者，不從一地至十地。』《楞伽經》云：『寂滅真如，有何次第？』古德云：『寧可永劫沈淪，終不求諸聖解脫。』又云：『任汝千聖現，我有天真佛。』何乃揑目生華，強分行位？」

Question: "The Sūtra of the Inquiries of Viśeṣacinti says: 'One who enters the right determination does not proceed from the first bhūmi to the tenth bhūmi.' The Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra says: 'In quiescent suchness, what sequence could there be?' An ancient worthy said: 'Better to sink forever for kalpas than to seek the liberation of all the sages.' Another says: 'Let a thousand sages appear as they will; I have the naturally real Buddha.' Why then press one's eyes to produce flowers, forcefully dividing stages of practice?"
