問：「身為道本，縛是脫因；何得然指、燒身，背道修道？高僧傳內、小乘律中，貶斥分明，奚為聖典？」

Question: "The body is the basis of the Dao, and bondage is the cause of liberation; how can one burn fingers or burn the body, acting contrary to the Dao in cultivating the Dao? In the Biographies of Eminent Monks and the Hīnayāna vinaya, this is clearly disparaged; how can it be a sacred canonical text?"
