古德問云：「達磨不與梁帝說功德因緣，而云無耶？菩薩捨國城、建塔廟，豈虛設乎？」

An ancient worthy asked: "Bodhidharma did not speak of the causal conditions of merit and virtue to Emperor Wu of Liang, but instead said there was none. Could the bodhisattva's abandoning of kingdoms and cities and erecting of stupas and monasteries have been done in vain?"
