《萬善同歸集》一書有益於進修，誠非小補。志於道者，舍此而他求，如繪無形之太虛，補無跡之疾風，徒弊精神，未見其有成也。諦思其義，法而行之，不惟不負於禪師著書，指迷之功；抑亦不負於區區重行鏤板之用心也，願勿以徒遮眼而已。

The work Collection on the Common Return of the Myriad Good Practices is beneficial to progress and cultivation, truly being of no small supplement. If those who aspire to the Way abandon this and seek elsewhere, it is like painting formless empty space or patching the trackless swift wind—merely exhausting their spiritual energy without seeing any success. Ponder its meaning deeply and practice it according to the Dharma; not only will you not let down the Chan Master's effort in writing the book to guide the lost, but you also will not let down my humble intention in re-carving the printing blocks. I hope it will not merely serve to pass before your eyes.
