問：「如上問意，秖據今時，多取理通，少從事習，皆稱玄學，離物超塵。佛果尚鄙而不修；片善豈宗而當作。未審上古，事總如然？請更決疑，免墜邪網。」

Question: "The intention of the question above was based merely on the present age, where people mostly adopt the penetration of principle and seldom follow phenomenal practice, all calling it 'profound study' that transcends things and goes beyond the dust. They even despise and do not cultivate the Buddha fruit; how could they uphold and perform slight goods? We do not know whether in antiquity things were entirely like this. Please resolve our doubts further, so that we may avoid falling into the net of heterodoxy."
