"Or copying the Great Canon to elucidate the true teaching; or carving stone and chiseling gold, flaying skin and piercing blood, to cause those who see and hear it to rejoice in sympathy, propagating it in the ten ways; vowing to repay the four debts of gratitude, clearly obeying the compassionate command. Therefore, the Buddha's wisdom cannot fully praise it; heavenly blessings reward it without end. It equals the merits of the Sugata and acts as an envoy of the Tathāgata. The Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra says: 'If a person hears this Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra, whether copying it oneself or having others copy it, the merit obtained, even if measured with the Buddha's wisdom, cannot find its boundary.'
