2.61

高菴退雲居。圓悟欲治佛印臥龍菴為燕休之所。高菴曰。林下人苟有道義之樂形骸可外。予以從心之年正如長庚曉月。光影能幾時。且西山廬阜林泉相屬。皆予逸老之地。何必有諸己然後可樂耶。未幾即曳杖過天台。後終于華頂峯（真牧集）。

When Gao'an retired from Yunju, Yuanwu wished to renovate Wolong Hermitage at Foyin as a place for his leisure and rest. Gao'an said, 'If a person of the forests has the joy of the Way and righteousness, the physical body can be treated as external. Having reached the age of following my heart's desires, I am just like the morning star and the dawn moon—how long can their light and shadow last? Furthermore, the Western Hills and Mount Lu, with their forests and springs linked together, are all places for my leisurely old age. Why must I possess them for myself before I can rejoice?' Before long, he took up his staff and went through Tiantai, later passing away on Huading Peak (from *Zhenmu ji*).
