3.60

音首座謂萬菴曰。夫稱善知識。當洗濯其心以至公至正接納四來。其間有抱道德仁義者。雖有讐隙必須進之。其或姦邪險薄者。雖有私恩必須遠之。使來者各知所守一心同德。而叢林安矣（與妙喜書）。

Head Seat Yin said to Wan'an: “One who is called a kalyāṇamitra must cleanse his mind and receive those coming from the four quarters with the utmost impartiality and uprightness. If among them there are those who embrace the Way, virtue, benevolence, and righteousness, even if there is an old feud, one must advance them. If there are those who are treacherous, sinister, or frivolous, even if there is personal gratitude, one must distance them. If those who come are each made to know what to preserve, being of one mind and the same virtue, then the monastic grove will be at peace (Letter to Miaoxi).”
