摺疊衣裳整齊鞋履。省約用籌點滴使水。屏息語言安詳進止。
當念此身滿中盛屎。臭不可聞穢不可視。
行廁革囊誠為可鄙。云何於身耽欲無恥。
云何於食樂著肥美。結習成因果報必是。
一入泥犁窮劫不已。苦樂在心昇沈由己。
道豈遠哉。未之思爾。

Fold your garments, arrange your shoes;
Economize the use of spatulas, use water drop by drop.
Hush speech; advance and stop with composure.
Consider that this body is filled with excrement;
Foul beyond smelling, defiled beyond viewing.
A walking latrine, a leather bag, truly contemptible!
Why indulge in desire for the body without shame?
Why delight in and crave rich delicacies for food?
Habitual afflictions form causes, and retribution is inevitable.
Once entering Avīci, it lasts for endless kalpas;
Suffering and joy abide in the mind, ascent and descent depend on oneself.
How could the Way be far? It is only that one has not thought of it.
