三下板鳴生死斷。十聲佛唱古今通。
開單展鉢親明取。不可麁心昧苦空。

With three strikes of the sounding board, birth and death are cut off; / with ten recitations of the Buddha's name, past and present are penetrated. / Opening the mat and spreading the pātra, clearly comprehend it for yourself; / one must not, with a coarse mind, remain blind to suffering and emptiness.
