"The pure Saṅgha of the Three Vehicles possesses the three wisdoms (hearing, contemplating, and cultivating), which are the bodhisattva path. Donning the armor of great vows, spurring the horse of vigor, holding the bow of forbearance, releasing the arrows of wisdom, they slay the thieves of afflictions. With a straight mind and a profound mind, they determinately proceed toward the unsurpassed, foremost, equal, and correct path without deviation, mindful of the Buddha, mindful of the Dharma, and mindful of the Saṅgha, receiving and practicing all the spoken teachings of the Buddhas, constantly employing the six pāramitās to deliver sentient beings, and constantly employing the four means of embracing to embrace all sentient beings. Acting as the venerable, as the guide, as the reliance, and as the rescuer, they establish sentient beings upon the Buddha's bodhi path. Therefore, they are titled the Saṅgha, friends of the Dharma and virtuous friends, constantly benefiting the world through skillful means; they are an excellent field of merit and true recipients of offerings."
