喆侍者。睡以圓木為枕。小睡則枕轉。覺而復起。率以為常。或謂用心太過。答云。我於般若緣分素薄。若不如此。恐為妄習所牽。

Attendant Zhe used a round log as a pillow when sleeping. With the slightest slumber, the pillow would roll away, and upon waking he would rise again; he made this his regular habit. Someone remarked that he applied his mind too excessively, to which he replied: 'My karmic affinity with prajñā has always been slight. Were I not like this, I fear I would be dragged along by deluded habits.'
