靈源清禪師。初參黃龍心。隨眾問答。茫然不知端倪。夜誓佛前曰。當盡形壽以法為檀。願早開解。後閱玄沙語。倦而倚壁。起經行。步促遺履。俯就之。忽大悟。

Chan Master Lingyuan Qing first investigated under Huanglong Xin. Following the assembly in questions and answers, he was at a total loss, perceiving no clue. At night he vowed before the Buddha: 'For the rest of my life, I shall make the Dharma my sole donation; may I soon awaken and understand.' Later, reading the words of Xuansha, he grew tired and leaned against a wall. Rising to engage in walking meditation, he walked briskly and lost a shoe. As he bent down to pick it up, he suddenly attained great awakening.
