慶壽享禪師。參鄭州普照寶公。朝夕精勤。一日以事往睢陽。過趙渡。疑情不散。忘其抵津。同行覺之曰。此河津也。豁然悲喜交集。以白寶公。公曰。此僵臥漢。未在。因教看日面佛語。一日雲堂靜坐。聞板聲大悟。

Chan Master Qingshou Xiang investigated under Master Bao of Puzhao in Zhengzhou, diligent morning and night. One day, traveling to Suiyang on business, he crossed Zhao Ferry; his state of doubt did not dissipate, and he forgot that he had reached the ferry. His traveling companion roused him, saying: 'This is the river ferry!' Openly, sorrow and joy mingled within him, and he reported this to Master Bao. Bao said: 'This stiff-corpse fellow is not there yet.' He then instructed him to inspect the words 'Sun-Face Buddha.' One day, sitting quietly in the cloud hall, he heard the striking of the board and attained great awakening.
